Question 211: To ask the Minister for Health and Children the function of the child protection notification system established by the Health Service Executive; the difficulties experienced with the system; the length of time it has been in operation; the cost to date in both establishing the system and in its usage; and the progress made in establishing a fully integrated national communication system as recommended in the national review of compliance with the Children First guidelines published in July 2008. The Deputy's question relates to the management and delivery of health and social services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. Accordingly, my Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to arrange to have the matter investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
