Question 441: To ask the Minister for Education and Science the timeframe for the appointment of a design team to initiate the architectural planning of the extension to a school (details supplied) in County Cork, authorisation for which was originally given on 24 April 2002; the reason no progress has been made in the meantime; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The development of a building project for the school in question is at an early stage. The progression of all large scale building projects, including this project, from initial design stage through to construction phase will be considered in the context of my Department's multi-annual School Building and Modernisation Programme. However, in light of current competing demands on the capital budget of the Department, it is not possible to give an indicative timeframe for the further progression of the project at this time.
