Question 507: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if his attention has been drawn to the serious concern being expressed by fishermen engaged in the refrigerated sea water sector at any redistribution plans in the mackerel quota; if he intends maintaining a coherent system of distribution that will allay their fears; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My colleague, Minister Tony Killeen has already received a range of diverse views from industry representatives and operators regarding how any additional mackerel quota for Ireland should be allocated. In that context, he is consulting with the industry representatives and has arranged a meeting of all interested parties for tomorrow 26th of November with a view to establishing whether an agreed industry approach to this matter can be found.
