Question 530: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he will advocate the continued investment in infrastructure as a stimulus to economic recovery; if so, when funding will be allocated to necessary projects (details supplied) in County Mayo; the position of these projects; and if he will make a statement on the matter. With regard to the specific projects referred to in the question I refer to the reply to Question Nos.1412 and 1466 of 24 September 2008. I would also point to the increase of 19%, to €560m, in my Department's capital provision for water services in 2009 as evidence of the priority attached to investment in water services infrastructure for environmental and economic purposes.
