Question 281: To ask the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the problems regarding the condition of a school (details supplied) in County Galway insofar as student space is concerned, that the school authorities were led to believe by his Department that the project would be approved, that work would commence in the autumn of 2007 and that nothing has happened yet; when the funding will be made available for this project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The progression of all large scale building projects, including the this project, from initial design stage through to construction phase will be considered in the context of my Department's multi-annual School Building and Modernisation Programme. However, in light of current competing demands on the capital budget of the Department, it is not possible to give an indicative timeframe for the progression of the project at this time.
