A proposal was previously received in my Department from Monaghan County Council in relation to borrowing to fund essential repairs to the exterior of the Courthouse in Castleblayney. That proposal was not proceeded with and subsequently the Council engaged consultants to prepare a feasibility study on the cost of refurbishing the entire building. It is understood that the report is due to be finalised shortly.
