Question 293: To ask the Minister for Health and Children when funding for development services for young people who are leaving schools for children with disabilities will be provided as allocated for 2008; if those centres that have received primary notification will be assured that the funding to pay staff will follow; if she will give an assurance that funding will be put in place for the students who will be leaving school in 2009; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy's question in relation to funding for 2008 and funding to pay staff relates to the management and delivery of health and personal services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. Accordingly, my Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to arrange to have this case investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy. It is not appropriate for me or my Department to comment on the resources that will be allocated in 2009, prior to the announcement of the Budget 2009 package.
