Data submitted to my Department by the Board of Management of the school referred to by the Deputy, indicated that there were 622 pupils enrolled in the school on 30 September 2007. In accordance with the staffing schedule, this entitles the school to a Principal and 23 mainstream class teachers for the 2008/2009 school year. The school also has 3 special classes for deaf children. The school does not meet the criteria to warrant the appointment of an Administrative (non teaching) Deputy Principal post. The criteria for the appointment of administrative Deputy Principals are set out in the published staffing schedule that was issued to all primary schools. It is also available on my Department's website at www.education.ie.
