Question 1804: To ask the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a school (details supplied) in Dublin 18, has no permanent school building, that all classrooms are prefabricated and that the school is located in an area of rapid population growth; and if he will give the necessary sanction and funding for the construction of the long awaited and urgently needed permanent new school building. The proposed building project for the school to which the Deputy refers is at an early stage of architectural planning.

The commencement and progression of all large scale building projects from initial design stage through to construction phase, including this project, will be considered in the context of my Department's Multi-Annual School Building and Modernisation Programme. However, in light of current competing demands on the capital budget of the Department, it is not possible to give an indicative timeframe for the progression of this project at this time.
