Question 1617: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the position regarding the implementation of the recommendation in the Report of the Seafood Industry Strategy Review Group, that a committee under the chairmanship of his Department be established to co-ordinate State support to the processing sector; and if he will make a statement on the matter. While no formal structure has been established, my Department is working closely with the relevant agencies (Bord Iascaigh Mhara, Udaras Na Gaeltachta and Enterprise Ireland) to develop a co-ordinated approach for the support of the seafood processing sector.
