The person concerned applied for jobseekers seekers allowance on 1 April 2008. By decision dated 12 June 2008 he was awarded jobseekers allowance at a reduced rate as his means exceeded the limit for the full rate. He has appealed this decision. I am advised by the Social Welfare Appeals Office that the case has been referred to an Appeals Officer for consideration.
The Social Welfare Appeals Office is an office of the Department that is independently responsible for determining appeals against decisions on social welfare entitlements.
