Question 658: To ask the Minister for Health and Children the progress that has been made since this Deputy's correspondence several weeks ago directly with the Minister in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon; the situation regarding this patient; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that this patient's health is deteriorating while they await surgery; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Operational responsibility for the management and delivery of health and personal social services is a matter for the Health Service Executive (HSE) and funding for all health services has been provided as part of its overall vote. As I advised the Deputy by letter on 26 August 2008, the matter raised by him has been referred to the HSE. I understand that the hospital is in communication with the person in question in relation to an appointment.
