Question 580: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the number of Irish vessels inspected by Irish Officers at both sea and port for the years 2006 and 2007; the number that were fined; the offences they were believed to have committed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Since the establishment of the Sea-Fisheries Protection Authority (SFPA) on 1 January 2007, the provision of the information requested is a matter for that Authority, which is a statutory body independent of me and my Department.

In relation to 2006 and prior to the establishment of the Authority, the vessels detained and the infringement detected are set out below.
