Question 47: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she is satisfied that each county and city enterprise board, chief executive officer, assistant CEO, business adviser, and administrative and secretarial staff employed nationwide are receiving full and proper pension entitlements; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I have, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, approved the introduction of Superannuation Schemes and associated Spouses' and Children's Superannuation Scheme by each County and City Enterprise Board (CEB) with a commencement date of 2 April 2008. The Schemes will, subject to the offer document, be based on the Public Service Model Employee Scheme and standard provisions for public service Spouses' and Children's schemes.

The arrangements are obligatory for all employees appointed to the County and City Enterprise Boards on or after 2 April 2008. Other employees serving on 2 April, 2008 have an option to join the Schemes on the terms outlined in the relevant offer document. These arrangements do not apply to staff on secondment to CEBs.

I am satisfied that the new arrangements offer all employees appropriate pension entitlements.
