Question 383: To ask the Minister for Health and Children her views on using the treatment purchase scheme to assist those patients on waiting lists for orthodontic treatment in view of the delays currently being experienced by these patients; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Programme for Government contains a commitment that orthodontic cases can be referred to the National Treatment Purchase Fund (NTPF) by creating an orthodontic fund to treat children who have been waiting the longest for treatment. Officials of my Department are examining the steps involved in advancing this matter.
