Question 179: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the reason many elderly people are getting back replies from their respective local authorities stating that they do not qualify or are covered under the housing adaption-mobility aid grant schemes and schemes of housing aid for older people; and if he will investigate this matter county by county; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The administration of the revised suite of housing adaptation grants for older people and people with a disability in individual cases, including the processing and approval of individual applications, is a matter for the relevant local authority and is one in which my Department has no direct function.
