Question 412: To ask the Minister for Education and Science, further to Parliamentary Question No. 356 of 29 April 2008, the way the person (details supplied) in County Donegal can receive the higher pay increment in view of the fact that it is the institution's policy not to grade students except on a pass-fail basis; if he is simply going to ignore this serious problem, which affects a large proportion of teachers in the north west who have studied for their teaching in Northern Ireland; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has established an agreed procedure for the payment of an allowance where a teacher obtains the Post Graduate Certificate in Education. My Department has been in contact with the school authority. The person to whom the Deputy refers has been advised on the documentation required in order for the school authority to process an application for the payment of the allowance being sought.
