Question 234: To ask the Minister for Transport if his attention has been drawn to the distress caused to local parents as a result of significant HGV traffic outside a school (details supplied) in County Meath; if he will proceed with measures to reduce and minimise the impact of this HGV traffic on pupils attending the school and their parents; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have no function in relation to the application of traffic management or traffic calming measures at local level.

It is a matter for the road authority, Meath County Council, to assess the road safety situation in respect of that location and to determine if the situation warrants the application of any particular traffic management measures, for example traffic calming, a periodic speed limit, or restrictions on access to a particular public road.
