Question 178: To ask the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources the date on which each member of the board of the ESB was first appointed; when they were subsequently reappointed if applicable; the members of the board appointed by him; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Chairman and Members of the Board of ESB are appointed by Government in accordance with Section 2 of the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1927. Elected Employee Members are appointed by the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources in accordance with the Worker Participation (State Enterprises) Acts, 1977 to 1993. The dates of appointment and reappointment of all members of the Board of ESB and the appointing authority in each case are set out in the following table.
