Question 371: To ask the Minister for Education and Science if she is satisfied that conditions at a school (details supplied) in Dublin 20, where there are problems with leaking roofs, rising damp, overcrowding, and a faulty heating system as a result of which the school has had to rely on gas heaters unsuitable for use in crowded conditions with a large number of children, are of an acceptable standard; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The project to which the Deputy refers is currently at a very advanced stage of the architectural planning process. The progression of all large scale building projects, including this project, from initial design stage through to construction phase will be considered on an on-going basis in the context of my Department's multi-annual School Building and Modernisation Programme.

An application for funding in respect of yard works has been received from the school referred to by the Deputy. This application is under examination at present and the school management will be informed of the outcome as soon as possible.
