Question 195: To ask the Minister for Education and Science if she will take steps to expedite the provision of a new school building (details supplied) in County Westmeath which has been promised by her Department since April 2006; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that time is of the essence, as the intake into the school in the past few years has been quite high and pupils enrolling in the infant classes will have to pass through the sub-standard and overcrowded classrooms in the old school building; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The building project for the school referred to by the Deputy is at an early stage of architectural planning. Progress on all major projects, including the project in question, will be considered on an ongoing basis in the context of my Department's multi-annual School Building and Modernisation Programme.
