Question 311: To ask the Minister for Education and Science if her attention has been drawn to the fact that a school (details supplied) in Dublin 6 has been unable to avail of the asbestos management programme organised by the Office of Public Works as the funding for 2008 has not been sanctioned; if, in the circumstances of this school and having regard to the health and safety aspects, she will make arrangements in order to enable the asbestos management programme to be implemented in the school; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I have asked the School Building and Modernisation Unit of my Department carry out an examination of the case referred to by the Deputy as a matter of urgency. As soon as this is completed the College will be informed of the position without delay.
