Question 454: To ask the Minister for Education and Science if her attention has been drawn to the concerns of the board of management of a school (details supplied) in Dublin 15, that the proposed refurbishment and extension programme for the school has been delayed and that the school had expected contractors to be on site some time ago but that her Department has indicated that such extensions are being delayed in the context of commitments to building new schools; when it is proposed to proceed with the funding for the refurbishment and extension programme of the school; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The project to which the Deputy refers is currently at an early stage of architectural planning process. The progression of all large scale building projects, including this project, from initial design stage through to construction phase will be considered on an on-going basis in the context of my Department's multi-annual School Building and Modernisation Programme.
