Question 159: To ask the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs the steps he has taken to ensure that his Department, in accordance with the requirement under the National Biodiversity Plan, has drawn up a biodiversity action plan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government is currently co-ordinating the preparation of the new National Biodiversity Plan for Ireland, which will cover the period 2008-12. My Department is represented on the Inter-Departmental Steering Group. When the Plan is agreed and published, any actions appropriate to my Department will be implemented.
