Question 135: To ask the Minister for Transport the reason Dublin Bus was asked to withdraw route 25X departures from the south Lucan area; the reason his Department has refused an application from Dublin Bus which sought to provide additional departures in that area under the public service obligation mandate; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The initiation or alteration of a bus service by Dublin Bus is subject to compliance with the requirement of giving advance notice to my Department and to compliance with the provisions of Section 25 of the Transport Act 1958 concerning competition with licensed private operators.

My Department has made no demand on Dublin Bus to cease any of its authorised Route 25X departures operating from the south Lucan area and has not refused any proposals from the Company for the provision of additional Route 25X departures.
