Question 439: To ask the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources if his attention has been drawn to the identity of each statutory instrument falling within his Department's remit which has statutory effect under the European Communities Act 1972 or other legislation specifically relating to same; if he will provide a list of such statutory instruments having statutory effect; and if he will make a statement on the matter. All relevant legislation, including statutory instruments under the European Communities Act, as appropriate, are brought to my attention by the Department, as required.

As the Deputy is aware, when Statutory Instruments are laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas, they are then published and are available in hard copy or electronic format at www.irishstatutebook.ie and will have European Communities Act referenced in the preamble where appropriate.

The identification of records over a period of thirty six years cannot be facilitated without undue commitment of staff resources and administrative cost. However, if the Deputy has a question in relation to a specific statutory instrument I will make appropriate enquiries.
