The Deputy is aware that the issue which arises in this case is that the person in question wishes to be free to use cannabis for medical purposes within this jurisdiction. The Misuse of Drugs Act is a matter for my colleague, the Minister for Health and Children and I have forwarded a copy of the correspondence to her.
The question of legislation in the light of the provision in the Schengen Convention referred to in the correspondence is under examination.
