Question 473: To ask the Minister for Transport the number of ships on the Irish register for the years 2003 to 2007 and to date in 2008; the key achievements of the Irish Maritime Development Office during 2007; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11871/08]

I am informed by the Registrars of Ships that the following table reflects the number of commercial vessels, registered under the Mercantile Marine Act, 1955, for the dates stated.
