At the end of January 2008, Kildare County Council had accommodated 294 former rent supplement cases with long-term housing need through the Rental Accommodation Scheme (RAS) — 143 in either voluntary or private rented properties and a further 151 through other social housing options. I am advised that cases are being accommodated throughout the county. I am satisfied with progress on RAS in Kildare and throughout the country where all local authorities are implementing the scheme.
