Question 462: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his attention has been drawn to papers relating to a children's detention centre (details supplied) in Dublin 11; if the papers contain a letter in the second half of 1996 from the Garda Commissioner to the Secretary General of the Department of Education and Science relating to co-operation by that Department in the investigation of concerns in relation to abuse in the centre; if the letter has been provided to the child abuse commission; the date on which that was done; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by the Garda authorities that the information requested by the Deputy is currently being researched. I will contact the Deputy again when the information is to hand.
