Question 377: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if there are plans to set up an inter-Departmental committee to oversee and coordinate marine, fisheries and coastal responsibilities that are covered by a number of Government Departments; and if she will make a statement on the matter. There are no plans to set up such a committee. There is however a high degree of co-ordination and consultation between the Departments, Boards and Agencies on issues related to marine, fisheries and coastal responsibilities. This co-ordination will continue and the Departments concerned will continue to work closely together in these matters.
