Question 49: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Finance when he expects the re-negotiation of the double taxation agreement between the US and Ireland to take place; the impact he expects this re-negotiation to have on the Exchequer here in future years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that there have been recent contacts between officials in the Revenue Commissioners and in the US Treasury about updating the existing US-Ireland income tax treaty. At this stage, no dates have been agreed for a meeting between the officials.

Given that no discussions have yet taken place, it is not possible to estimate any possible Exchequer impact, positive or negative, at this stage.
