Question 215: To ask the Minister for Transport if consultants have been retained by his Department to stress test the robustness of the business plans submitted by Dublin Airport Authority for Dublin, Cork and Shannon Airports; if not, if his Department has plans to have these business plans independently assessed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have no immediate plans to initiate work by consultants on the assessment of the robustness of the business plans, which I have received for Dublin, Cork and Shannon Airports. My Departmental officials have examined the plans concerned and I would envisage some further discussions with the Airport Authorities about key aspects of the restructuring process in the period ahead. In that regard I should mention that I have appointed Peter Cassells to liaise with the DAA and the CAA in an effort to resolve speedily the longstanding disagreement on Cork debt.
