Question 363: To ask the Minister for Defence if he will present in tabular form the progress at the end of 2007 in respect of units or agencies under his Department which are due to decentralise showing in respect of each the number of posts to be decentralised, the number who have moved to the new location, the number who have been assigned to the decentralised post but have not moved, the number of staff who have been assigned who are new recruits and the number who have opted to stay in Dublin who have been assigned to other posts within Dublin. The information requested by the Deputy in relation to progress on the decentralisation of civil servants in my Department to Newbridge as at 31 December 2007 is set out hereunder:

Number of Personnel moved to new location | Nil |
Number assigned but have not moved | 141 |
New recruits | Nil |
Personnel assigned to other posts within Dublin | 46 |
In addition to the civil servants, 43 military personnel will also be located in Newbridge. A further 335 military personnel together with 78 support staff will decentralise to the new Defence Forces Headquarters building in the Curragh Camp.
