Question 300: To ask the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs if the use of compulsory purchase orders powers has increased since the advice of the Minister for Finance to Departments on this matter in 2005; the details of the increase; if he has secured faster release of lands and a more cost effective price for all forms of public infrastructure; and the savings secured. The appropriate use of compulsory purchase order powers is considered by my Department, Údarás na Gaeltachta and Waterways Ireland where relevant in the interest of securing a faster release of lands at a cost effective price. However, I am advised that the use of such powers has not increased since 2005.
