Question 68: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Finance the status of the decentralisation programme for Drogheda; the stage the building design process is at; if architects have been appointed; if the plans will be made available for public inspection; when the planning application will be submitted to the local authority; if this will be a public private partnership development; when does he anticipate the commencement, duration and completion of the proposed development; if, in view of the fact that the land earmarked for the development is currently being used as a local authority car park, an alternative car park will be made available; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The proposed decentralised offices in Drogheda will be procured by means of a Public Private Partnership. Design and other work necessary to inform the PPP process, from which process design, build, finance and maintenance proposals will be secured from Tenderers, is well under way. It would be the intention to advertise the commencement of the formal PPP process during the current year.
The planning Application, when submitted, will be available for public inspection.
It is understood that the provision of public parking, going forward, is being addressed by Drogheda Borough Council.
