Question 326: To ask the Minister for Health and Children if she will investigate a situation whereby a person (details supplied) in County Cork has been awaiting an out-patient appointment for almost four years and is not even on an out-patient waiting list to date; and if she will arrange an appointment for the person in order that they can be put on the waiting list for surgery under the National Treatment Purchase Fund. The management of out-patient waiting lists is a matter for the Health Service Executive and the individual hospitals concerned. Therefore, the Executive is the appropriate body to consider the particular case raised by the Deputy. My Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to arrange to have the matter investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
