Question 257: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Finance if he is satisfied that tax returns anticipated at the time of Budget 2008 are expected to remain on target; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2750/08]

Budget 2008 forecast tax revenues in 2008 of €48,910 million, a 31⁄2 per cent increase on the 2007 outturn.

As is the norm, my Department actively monitors trends in tax receipts and reports publicly on a quarterly basis.

The Budget forecasts have not been revised.
