Question 157: To ask the Minister for Transport further to Parliamentary Question No. 278 of 27 November 2007, the number of direct Aer Lingus transatlantic passengers to and from Shannon Airport for the years 2005 and 2006; the projected number of direct Aer Lingus transatlantic passengers to and from Shannon Airport for the year ending 2007; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Aer Lingus is a private company operating in a competitive market. I am advised that the information requested by the Deputy is commercially sensitive and, given the highly competitive environment in which the airline operates, it would not be appropriate for me to publicly disclose such information.
