Question 552: To ask the Minister for Education and Science the reason she has not sanctioned the construction of a permanent school building for a school (details supplied) in Dublin 18; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that the project was put to tender and a contractor chosen with the sanction of her Department, that the school board was assured that money was set aside by her Department for this project and that if the project is not sanctioned to go ahead before the end of November 2007 the tendering process will have to recommence, and the project will be further delayed; and if she will sanction the project to proceed. The tender report for the school referred to by the Deputy is under examination in my Department at present. The school's Board of Management will be kept advised of developments when the examination is complete.

Schedules of accommodation for the school to which the Deputy refers have been agreed with the management authority of the school. The proposed building project is at an early stage of architectural planning and the further progression of the building project will be considered in the context of the School Building and Modernisation programme.
