The Reception and Integration Agency (RIA) is responsible for the accommodation of asylum seekers in accordance with the Government policy of direct provision and dispersal.

The person referred to in the question is currently availing of RIA direct provision accommodation at Knockalisheen Centre, Limerick Road, Meelick, Co. Clare. The RIA has not received any correspondence from the person requesting a transfer from her current accommodation. If such a request is made directly to the RIA, it will be given due consideration.

The person concerned claimed asylum in February of this year and, contrary to the supplementary information provided by the Deputy, according to the date of birth provided in the asylum application, she is in her mid forties. It should be further noted that, if an application for a transfer is received, there is no guarantee that it can be facilitated given the competing demands on the RIA accommodation portfolio.
