Question 295: To ask the Minister for Education and Science the reason an application for a school extension from a school (details supplied) in County Tipperary, which was formally granted an extension in the summer of 2002, has some five years later, failed to move to the planning and tendering stage within her Department; when she anticipates that the school will be given approval by her Department for the next stage; and if she will make a statement on the matter. A Stage 3 submission (detailed sketch scheme) is currently under examination in my Department. The school's Board of Management will be kept advised of developments when the examination is complete. The progression of all large scale building projects from initial design stage through to construction phase, including this project, is considered on an on-going basis in the context of my Department's Multi-Annual School Building and Modernisation Programme. The Deputy can be assured that my Department will continue to ensure that building projects are delivered within the earliest possible timeframes.
