Question 216: To ask the Minister for Health and Children when the Prospectus report commissioned in 2006, regarding future demand for long stay nursing home places will be published and available to the providers and commissioners of long stay accommodation to help them plan for future capacity in that sector; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Last year, the Health Service Executive, in conjunction with Prospectus, undertook a Needs Assessment of bed capacity requirements in the areas of long-stay, dementia specific and respite care beds. Therefore the Executive is the appropriate body to consider dissemination of the report. This Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to arrange to have the matter investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
