Question 571: To ask the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo cannot get broadband on their home landline as they urgently need it for their profession and the lack of this service is causing major problems. [29794/07]

The provision of telecommunications services, including broadband, is primarily a matter for private sector companies operating in a fully liberalised market, regulated by the Independent Commission for Communications Regulation, (ComReg).
Difficulties with the provision of wired broadband services are matters for the infrastructure owners. I have no function in this matter.
