My Department's National Energy Efficiency Awareness Campaign, Power of One, is augmenting key energy efficiency messages in the run up to Christmas.
An online, TV, radio and press campaign specifically promoting the use of energy efficient lighting is underway and is scheduled to run until 9 December. A similar campaign specifically promoting the efficient use of domestic heating systems will commence on 24 December and run until 20 January.
A TV advertisement promoting the purchase and use of energy efficient Christmas lights also airs this week and this campaign is reinforced online at www.powerofone.ie. I will also be highlighting the benefits of energy efficient Christmas lighting in the coming weeks in the overall context of reinforcing the ongoing imperative for greater energy efficiency by all of us at home and at work.
