Facilities available to the Reserve Defence Forces (RDF) in Mallow comprise of two buildings, the Brigade Headquarters which is a two story building used as offices and a single story timber building used for storage and training.

The Military Authorities have confirmed that the timber building was demolished earlier this year. They have also confirmed that it is planned to replace this facility in 2008. The Reserve will continue to use the remaining facility until the new facility is completed.

Facilities available to the Reserve Defence Forces are continuously monitored to ensure that they are adequate to meet requirements.

The premises in County Cork which is the subject of this question is under the administration of my Department. I have recently received a request for use of the premises from the organisation concerned and the matter is currently being considered in my Department.
