My Department has spent €270.7m towards the construction of permanent school buildings and €3.7m on the purchase of temporary accommodation to the end of October 2007. These figures are exclusive of spending on projects approved under the Summer Works Programme which to date this year has spent €95m.

The total spend on rented accommodation to the end of October 2007 has been €25.8m. The entire capital budget for 2007 is expected to be fully expended by the end of the year
