Question 90: To ask the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork who has a long history of hearing problems and who has been provided for many years with an external hearing aid has been told that despite the fact that they find it impossible to wear the external hearing aid due to discomfort and severe pain they are not entitled to an internal hearing aid which would allow them to use it on a more regular basis. The Deputy's question relates to the management and delivery of health and personal social services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. Accordingly, my Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to arrange to have this matter investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
