Question 190: To ask the Minister for Health and Children if she will direct the health repayment scheme administrator to in future sign all letters personally and not sign with a scribble with no typed name at the end of the letter as for example in a letter dated 25 October 2007 to this Deputy regarding a constituent. The Health Service Executive (HSE) has responsibility for administering the health repayment scheme in conjunction with the appointed scheme administrator KPMG/McCann Fitzgerald. The HSE have informed my Department that the Scheme Administrator is a statutory function set up under the Health (Repayment) Scheme Act 2006 and letters are written from the Scheme Administrator and not from any individual. My Department has asked the HSE to discuss this issue with the Scheme Administrator to establish if more specific contact details can be supplied.
