Question 425: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a person (details supplied) has been informed by the Irish Embassy in Moscow that they are ineligible for a visa to be reunited with their spouse under the free movement of persons regulations 2006 as they were deported from Ireland in 2006; if this refusal will be reviewed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by the Immigration Division of my Department that a visa for the applicant cannot issue until such time as the deportation order is revoked. This matter is currently under review and I understand that a recommendation will be made to me in the near future as to whether the deportation order is or is not to be revoked. I will inform the Deputy of my decision in due course.
